I was born in Springfield,
Massachusetts at Baystate Hospital.
I have lived all over Western
Massachusetts and currently serve
families in Hamden,Franklin, And Hampshire counties (as well as virtually throughout Massachusetts and beyond). Although I do not have any children of my own, I have surely been born, and believe in advocating for the safe and respectful passage of all incoming humans and the experiences of birth giving parents and their partners. My commitment to supporting families, and babies of all ages (thats you, adult!), comes from an understanding that strengthening family systems is a direct and practical way to build a healthier, more sustainable society. Family Health is a microcosm of the health of our wider communities and societies. When we nurture the health, culture, and resilience within our families, the impact expands beyond the home, shaping our communities and influencing our world. As the saying goes, "Heal the world, cook dinner tonight!".

My higher educational background is in Speech & Hearing Sciences and Special Education. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, which informs my work as a family support specialist to be accessible, creative and collaborative. Before becoming a doula, I interned as a Speech Language Pathologists Assistant and worked as an American Sign Language Communication Facilitator in a South Burlington VT preschool. Much of my curiosity, education, and continued study is in movement development, language development, psycho-social development, mental health, community, addiction, belonging, nutrition, the human microbiome and the inseparable nature of these facets of life.

I began my education as a doula at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where I trained and began attending births with a cohort of volunteer doulas. After attending a second birth doula training program and a postpartum doula training, I launched my first doula practice "Your Story Birth Supports" in the spring of 2020 (launching my first doula practice at the start of a Global Pandemic did have its challenges, but babies dont wait for those types of things to blow over!).

I am a lifelong learner and bring my lived experiences of sensory processing challenges, neurodivergence, and resilience to my work with families and children. My current explorations and areas of growth are in my studies towards becoming an Infant Developmental Movement Educator and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I bring many years of experience as a nanny to this work as well, which has allowed me an extremely valuable inside perspective at the gaps in support and education that families are looking for, as well as the joys and challenges they regularly experience. I am truly so grateful and excited for this opportunity to support and learn from families through my labor of love at Woven Family Wellness.

Contact
I'm always looking for opportunities to connect, support, and learn. I am especially interested in learning from the stories and experiences of disabled and neurodivergent parents, parents of disabled and neurodiverse children, Deaf Parents, parents of D/deaf or signing children, "Highly Sensitive" parents and children, parents who experience PTSD, and parents who are in recovery from drugs and alcohol.
